What are ombré lips?
Ombré lips flush the whole lip with a gorgeous wash of color, fading towards the center. They are the sexiest of our semi-permanent makeup services. We don't believe in just lining the lips, as our goal is achieve the most realistic, natural look possible. The edges/contours of the lips are defined, and your pout will appear naturally fuller...without injections! Natural/nude colors are available, as well as deeper shades. All lip services begin with mapping out the perfect shape for you, and selecting your perfect color. We do utilize numbing agents throughout the service to keep you as comfortable as possible. Please note that all methods of permanent makeup for the lips require 2 session to complete. In some cases (such as corrections of previous work), more sessions may be required. Each session is priced individually; touch-ups are not included in the cost of the first session. Ombré lips last 6-12 months before needing a boost, depending on how they are cared for. Please reach out to us if you have any questions!
For Clients Who Have Permanent Makeup Already
Are you returning to your last lip artist for your next service?
Awesome! If the outline of your new lip color is still faintly visible, please book a Colorboost. However, our advice is to allow your lips to fully fade before returning, then booking another first-timer session.
Was your last lip service done by another artist?
Some services done on top of old permanent makeup require color correcting or camouflaging. In other cases, removal would be required to achieve your desired result. For this reason, please reach out via phone or email to discuss your case prior to booking.
Lip Aftercare: How to Take Care of Your Ombré Lips
Days 1-7: Upon leaving, lips will appear much fuller and darker than they will once healed. As needed, blot lips gently with a damp paper towel before reapplying ointment. Only use the ointment recommended by your artist. It is normal for lips to peel for the full 7 days, and feel most dry/chapped around day 3. During these 7 days, avoid the following: picking and scratching, excessive stretching/rubbing, smoking, dental appointments, teeth whitening, topical cold sore medication, sleeping on the face, makeup/skincare being applied within 1" of the area, acidic foods/drinks, sexual contact, swimming, excessive direct sunlight, soaking the lips or hitting them with a direct stream of water. They will be very tender, and the color will go through many changes for up to 2 weeks. The final color cannot be judged until that point. If you have any concerns, do not attempt to alter your own lips, please just reach out to us! In the long run, using retinol/acids within 1" of the area, or any skincare products meant to brighten or resurface, may fade your lip color faster.
